Any state, no matter whats its pretenses, that aspires to a scale of the Unitary Republic must remain aware of the dangers of corruption. In fact this is ultimately the primary fear held by many, that an entity such as this would become corrupt.
Many Nations today exist in a state of fractional corruption, as almost any state has people within it that would look to take advantage of the system for their own gain.
The risk with the Unitary Republic being greater however, the steps to control and monitor such danger is proportionately more drastic.
One of the primary tenets of the Unitary Republic is it's stance to resist all forms of corruption. Part of that commitment is a totally unique, independant watchdog. This independant entity is not under the direct control of the government and is instead a constitutionally mandated and seperate entity with a publically elected leader. This Anti Corruption department has the mission of monitoring, from an apolitical standpoint, all bills that are entered through the government and all the members and their behavior therein. They are allowed to investigate and collect information, and report to the judicial system for any appropriate actions to be taken.
There will also be massive restrictions on Political Campaigning and Media Ties will be stringently scrutinised.
It is the belief that in a functioning system, we shouldnt be advertised to like consumers by a political media machine, and instead should be able to make an objective decision from a simple factbook of confirmed information. This way voters will be able to make the rational choices that modern media often denies them and will drastically undercut the sway of the stagnant 'two party' systems that dominate most western democracies.
